In The News: October 22, 2008 - New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation hosted its 4th Annual Evening of Entertainment

On Wednesday, October 22nd, The New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation (NHLTCF) hosted its 4th Annual Evening of Entertainment at the Manchester Country Club located in Bedford, New Hampshire. Colonial Poplin was a proud Table Sponsor at this event which was held in honor of eleven scholarship recipients in long term care who represented dedication in their fields and are committed to pursue their continued education.

Jeff and his wife Kelly, along with Justin and seven members of the Poplin staff attended this evening of special honors, live music and comic entertainment.

Our facility was extremely proud to sponsor this event in that Colonial Poplin's own Amy Remick received a $2000.00 scholarship towards her nursing career at the University of New Hampshire.

Amy has been with this facility for over two years and her dedication towards her residents has been commended by her peers as well as residents and their families alike.

On behalf on Colonial Poplin's residents, families and staff, congratulations are extended to Amy and her pursuit of an excelled career in nursing. We are also very pleased that Amy continues to work Per Diem at Poplin as she engages in her freshman year at UNH.

Also on that evening, Colonial Poplin was recognized in the art of fundraising. Director of Nursing, Liz Simes, had put together a Silent Auction for which the proceeds went directly to the NHLTCF scholarship program. For three weeks, several wreaths made by Poplin's department heads and management team were on display in the foyer. When the auction concluded, over one thousand dollars were raised which launched Colonial Poplin to the forefront of the participating long term care facilities.

Owners Jeffrey and Justin Philbrick graciously accepted the Fundraising Achievement Award which was presented by Foundation President, Mike Lehrman, and New Hampshire Senator John Sununu.

Colonial Poplin extends warmest appreciation to the NHLTCF for hosting this event and to the Manchester Country Club for providing a fine venue for this well deserved evening.

Special commendations are given to all eleven scholarship recipients, and in particular to Amy Remick who we value greatly as an LNA and look forward to having on our staff for years to come.
