Special Announcement:
~ Evening of Entertainment ~
New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation
Kimarie Lawrence with owners
Justin and Jeff Philbrick, Director of Nursing Liz Simes and
supportive Poplin staff members.
It was the 5th Annual Evening
of Entertainment hosted by the New Hampshire Long Term Care Foundation
and it was yet another Annual Evening of Celebration for Colonial
Poplin. Held on Wednesday, October 28th at the Manchester Country
Club in Bedford, New Hampshire, the event was attended by nearly
two hundred representatives of this State's Long Term Care Facilities
and service providers.
The most important part of the
evening was recognizing thirteen scholarship recipients who were
awarded $30,000.00 by the NHLTCF. For the second consecutive
year, Colonial Poplin was not only a proud Table Sponsor, but
also a facility which had a staff member selected for receiving
one of the honors. It does not stop there. This year, MNA Kimarie
Lawrence was awarded the $3500.00 Vivienne Wisdom Scholarship
which was the most prestigious recognition of the night. Kimarie
was joined by her husband, Scott, as well as ten members of the
Poplin staff who were there to celebrate her achievement.
Colonial Poplin received a second
recognition that evening, and again, for the second consecutive
year. The NHLTCF reaches out to the facilities to participate
in the "Accept the Challenge" program which is a fundraising
campaign that assists the Foundation in raising scholarship money
for those deserving employees. This year, four facilities joined
the cause and raised over $3000.00. Colonial Poplin held a number
of fundraising events coordinated by Director of Nursing, Liz
Simes and through these efforts, $2002.50 was contributed. Awarded
to Colonial Poplin was a travelling crystalline trophy which
will be on display until next year, where at the 2010 Evening
of Entertainment, the trophy will either go back 'home' to Poplin
or be awarded to any facility that can top Poplin's fundraising
abilities.
All in all, the evening was very
special for all long term care providers in the State. Special
thank you's go out to everyone who donated time, effort and money
to assist in reaching such an outstanding amount in Colonial's
fundraising plights. And without a doubt, heartfelt congratulations
are extended to Kimarie for her recognition by the NHLTCF.
We look forward to another phenomenal
year in 2010 !!!
