The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have rated Colonial Poplin 5 out of 5 Stars in their Five- Star Quality Rating System. It is truly an honor to have made it to the top of this rating system which scores in the categories of Health Inspections, Nursing Home Staffing, Quality Measures and concludes with an Overall Rating. This ranking was taken from 2010 information and did not even include the phenomenal survey the Facility experienced this past February.

When Jeff sent me the link to the CMS website yesterday… it was one of those times when goose bumps race across your skin and you realize why you open that front door every day. He stated, "We have always rated very high in both staffing and quality indicators, areas we could control every day. To some degree, the results of the annual survey are beyond our control since different people see things in different ways. Our staff has worked diligently to learn from the process and improve survey results and I have been very proud to see the fruits of their labor."

Operating this type of Facility has its every day challenges and of course there is the monumental effort to ensure the stereotypes of long term care are eliminated to the best of our abilities. The staff we have at Colonial Poplin are incredible… the nursing and therapy departments, dietary, housekeeping and maintenance, residential services, business office, human resources… we all come together each and every day and set the standard of nursing home and rehabilitative care that should be expected from every home. In a business that never sleeps, we are on top. The years of dedication and perseverance since we opened in 1983 continue… and so does our everlasting commitment to make Colonial Poplin and Poplin Way home to every resident who comes through our doors.
